US Lawmakers Call for Release of Uighur Prisoners from GTMO

This story is one that needs to be discussed more. It seems as if American-Muslims only focus on the suffering of Muslims in one or two places and neglect the plight of Muslims in China and the former Soviet Union.  Read this story from the AP on the calls by US lawmakers to release Uighur Muslim prisoners from GTMO. 1. I think the reason why Muslim Americans focus on more issues than others is because there are not a lot of Muslim immigrant from those suffering lands. How many Muslim American Chinese have you met or how many Muslim American Russians? That’s my point. There are plenty Palestinians, Afghanis, Iraqis, and of course Pakistanis who are fervent in their plea to help the Muslims in their homelands.

But you are right, we need more Muslims to learn about the atrocities around the Muslim world.

A good example would be Darfur. If it wasn’t for the non-Muslims, many Muslims (including myself) would not have known that Muslims were dying their and being killed by their own Muslim brothers.

Darfur is an embarassment on the entire Muslim ummah of the world. It is beyond disgusting and terrorism. It is straight Shaytani Deviant and Kufr. The fact that Muslims rape other Muslim women in Darfur just makes me cringe and boil at the sight of any “Sudani FAKE Arab”.

May Allah (swt) protect the innocent! Ameen!

  2. While the Uighurs fled to Afghanistan, the Hazaras fled to China to escape from the Taliban’s brutality.

    How ironic.

  3. Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

This post bring to mind the Muslims of Burma, the country now known as Myramar. The Muslims of that country were kicked out of the country, and were very oppressed. Alhumdulillah, there are Muslims who are willing to help the people there, but let us not forget, or not hold them responsible for the actions they have taken against Muslims
