Nine Years Since Biggie and New Ice Cube Release

If I would have had the chance yesterday I would have written about the day being the 9th Anniversary of the shooting death of the Notorious BIG. While most will easily say he was the greatest MC to ever hail from New York ( still giving Rakim, Jay-Z , and Nas their dues as well as my man Mos Def) Hot 97 had to take me back yesterday as they played his entire catalogue to show just how great of an MC Biggie was and how nine years later cats still haven’t caught up to his rhythms. You will always wonder if Biggie would have lived, and if Pac would have lived, would then have kept on making great rhythms or would they have fell off?

On that note Ice Cube was on the Angie Martinez show yesterday and was talking about his album that is comin out on 6.6. To me Ice Cube is the symbol of the hip-hop generation ( along with 2Pac) and you can trace his evolvement and moods along with the history of the music and the political sentiment in the nation. It is good to see that this album Cube will return to his political but gangsta style that produced Death Certificate: I Wanna Kill Sam in 1991 one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever. Cube is also involved with the Black and White reality TV show on the FX netowrk.
