European Civil War?

News has it that the French riots have now spread to Germany and Belgium and Europeans are fearing that the entire continent may erupt in rioting.

Over the last several years immigration has become the major political issue in Europe as European politics have moved slightly to the right over this issue and the nations of Central and Western Europe have one by one passed tough new immigration laws.

Muslims are the Latinos of Europe; a large and vibrant immigrant group with borders to the land they are immigrating to. In the days of the past it was the Jews who were the scapegoats for all things evil in Europe; but today Muslims, and to a lesser extend black Africans, are blamed for all of societies ills as far-right groups once clearly out of the mainstream of European life are now gaining popularity and mainstream acceptance.

Europe resents its large immigrant population and I hear this not only in the media but in my conversations with white Europeans from across the political spectrum. At the same time Europeans are opting to not get married, not have children ( or only have one or two if they do decide to become what the cultural-elite call “breeders”), and are refusing to take jobs they feel beneath them and rely on a generous state social welfare system. Therefore they may not like their immigrants; but they need them. If Europe doesn’t want immigration, which it so desperately needs at this time, then they will have to radically alter their lifestyles and start having more children. Other than that, what do Europeans want? If they are choosing lifestyles of idleness, wine and coffee drinking and moral relativism then they are openly choosing for a non-European future. Muslim and black immigrants are merely taking advantage of this opportunity and in the process helping both themselves and the countries they live and work in.

In Europe there may be grumbling about immigration from the man on the street, just as you see in the US; but both here and there economists and business leaders are almost unanimous in there support for greater levels of immigration.

What many young Muslims are saying in Europe; who are by all rights European, is that they need to be respected just like other citizens. Europe needs their Muslims and needs to respect them for who they are and respect Islam, and the same goes for the black African and Caribbean peoples in Europe. It is not possible for one to have there cake and eat it too; you cannot educate young Muslims in the fine European schools and then tell them they have to be second-class citizens. You cannot pass laws that are disrespectful to Muslims, like the French hijab ban, and then expect the Muslims of France to accept that with a smile. Certain elements in European politics have decided they want to declare war on the Muslim population; but they do not have to torch cars and loot stores, because they are schmoozing with the owners of the stores and have a private fleet of cars and they make the laws. They issue wordy documents and statements that attack Muslims and send the working-class attack dogs out to enforce their edicts while claiming to be tolerant and open-minded. These young Muslims in the streets, who are misguided for the most part, do not have the power of the European political elite; they cannot pass laws, buy off opponents or go to war. What they can do is erupt out of frustration and rage and tell Europe that they are here to stay and Europe better get used to it. Their actions may not be rational; but they are from the heart. Like in any riotous situation those closet to them will suffer the most and the European-elite will be immune from the misery; but they will take notice.

The European governments will respond. A commentator on the BBC last night remarked that if the French elections were held today the far-right party would win. I predict that there will be a rapid-growth in the far-right parties of Europe and that Europe will be entering a period of long and bloody political turmoil if they do not come to terms with the problem they have and address the situation from a point of mutual-respect.

The French editorial pages all now have one theme; is this the beginning of a long-series of violent confrontations between white European and Muslims and African immigrants or is this an isolated incident? Time will tell.

In other news we have all seen that a number of Muslim have been arrested in Australia in connection to a terror plot and that a group of their friends beat-up some Australian media personnel. Ill have to keep my eye on that situation and until we know more I really can’t comment. In US elections the Democrats won in VA and NJ; but Mad Mike prevailed in NYC to the delight of the latte and S&M crowd.

  1. They dont need to deport anyone. What they do need to do is accept Muslims, from whatever background, as equal citizens.

I have seen many wrong ideas and facts on a lot of blogs, including many “Muslim” bloggers, usually those who try too hard to be western.

They think that these immigrants are ignorant, lazy, and just would rather sit around and live off state subsidies and subvert Europe. This is far from the case. Explain to me how the children of immigrants to France who have worked hard and have university degrees, still have a n unemployment rate many times higher than their French counterparts? Let me guess, they worked so hard to get the degree they decided to be lazy?

Far from it. I’ll tell you why, because when the employer sees your name is “Khalid” and not “Olivier” you have ZERO chance of getting hired.

  2. Salaams,

You would think people would get beyond this petty racism. “Deport Jewish or Muslim “scum.” Very mature.

When I visited France, I had this idealistic image of a country with good race relations and a vibrant multicultural society. That was until I went to the projects, or what they call suburbs. Reminds me of the ghettos of New Orleans which are REALLY poor.

And then I started meeting and talking to French Muslims, Black Africans and Arabs, who complained of the religious and racial discrimination. I hate that the riots are going on and that there has been one loss of life. And for the love of Islam, they didn’t have to burn down that synagogue.

But I definitely understand where that anger is coming from. It’s haram but I understand it. Now it’s spreading across Europe. Those Europeans better wake up. You can’t colonize and oppress people and expect smiles like a good house Negro.

  3. “Europe needs their Muslims and needs to respect them for who they are and respect Islam…”

If this is expected from Western Countries, shouldn’t it also be expected that Islamic Countries respect non-Muslims and their religion?

  4. “If this is expected from Western Countries, shouldn’t it also be expected that Islamic Countries respect non-Muslims and their religion?”

There are no “Islamic countries” in the world today, only countries with Muslim majorities. Not one country in the world today is run in an Islamic manner, not even close.

I agree that rights should be afforded to all, whether it is in the Middle East or the West. Time for the West to put their money where their mouths are, let the immigrants and their families integrate. Most of these people were born and raised in France anyway, so when are we going to stop calling them immigrants? And time for the West, especially the USA, to stop support the dictators in the Middle East.

  5. Why don’t you consider Iran and Saudia Arabia Islamic countries?

“Time for the West to put their money where their mouths are, let the immigrants and their families integrate.”

Money for what? What responsibility does the West have that it should be spending money on the immigrants?

My grandparents immigrated to the US from Italy and had no problem integrating into American society.

I think it’s time for the US to get entirely out of the Middle East.

  6. Last time I checked Italians were white, and didnt have much of a real culture….so it didnt take long for them to “integrate.” This was a 100 years ago, the world today is a much smaller place. If you europeans dont want to do your own work or have babies, you have only yourselves to blame not the immigrants you allowed in. On top of that if you mistreat people immigrant or otherwise, chances are they’re going to start protesting. Enough excuses and racism already.

  7. “Italians don’t have much of a real culture.”

Fuck you Anonymous. And I’m American not European.

“On top of that if you mistreat people immigrant or otherwise, chances are they’re going to start protesting.”

So then you would have no problem if French citizens rose up and fought back against the rioting Muslims?

    “Enough excuses and racism already.”

Oh and just what race are Muslims?

  8. Muslims don’t WANT to integrate into western society – they want their petty backwards customs to be imposed on the country they move to.

The west needs to stike back HARD against muslims who are not capable of accepting our secular society. Don’t like it? Then get the fuck OUT!

  9. The Hajib bann was stupid, but your criticism for French women for not wanting to have kids without the benefit of daycare, and vacation time and better pay is equally stupid. It is an indication that you are lying when you say you support working class people, and Hugo Chavez. You only support muslims reguardless of class status, and rich people like those greedy business men you quote in this piece. You clearly like neoliberal business men who use overpopulation to drive down wages, and break the backs of unions more than you like the working class. As I observed in your interview with Dan. Osama ain’t a poor man. If you don’t have decent health insurance stop bitching, the mexicans are willing to work without it, and unlike you most are married and they have kids. Maybe you are a coffee drinking liberal elite?

  10. first of all I will say that I take comments posted under anonymous with a grain of salt. if you believe something then stand on it and be held accountable to your positions.. The French have liberal benefits towards working families so that is not the issue. The issue is Europe no longer believes in the traditional family. Why aren’t wealthy families having kids? Overpopulation is a myth with strong racial overtones. If you think the Latin American Left and the European left are living on the same planet then you are deluding yourself. BTW, I have never drank a full cup of coffee in my life and I am married and do have a child…talk about something you know about; like being an Islamophobe.

  11. >>Fuck you Anonymous. And I’m American not European. < < No, you’re a European American of Italian background with no history or understanding of civil rights. So fuck you very much. >>So then you would have no problem if French citizens rose up and fought back against the rioting Muslims?< < French rising up to fight French? I realize that greasers arent the smartest people in the word, but thats a pretty dumb statement. >>Oh and just what race are Muslims?< < They’re not european, thats their crime. If they aint white, they aint right.

  12. The traditional family is not all that great if you are abused women, and up until the working class women of france went on their reproductive strike, the Conservative government of France wasn’t even disgussing subsidized daycare, at the work place.

The lowest population growth is in Russia, and Russian women are by far the poorest in Europe, and have the fewest work benefits owing to the “shock treatment” they were given by neoliberal economists in the 90s. That is why they are the targets of human trafficking. I am sorry but when you say things like “they refuse to take jobs that are beneath them”, and use greedy business men to back up that statement, that is nothing less than a call to lower benefits, smash unions and minimum wage.” The European left isn’t the smarmy-ass centrist dem left in the US. David Brooks is a fucking republican voter, and so are his bohos.

Also if it is only the rich whites that aren’t having kids, why do you think birth control is a conspiracy against people of color? That makes no sense. You might try logic every once in while.

Furthermore, traditional values conservative Islam is no more a friend to poor people in the middle east than Opus Dei is a friend to poor people in Latin America, or the moral majority is a friend to the poor in the US.

Traditional religion likes traditional class hierarchy. The poor are to obey the rich and women are supposed to obey men. They also like lots of poverty because they view poverty as an evangelizing opportunity. If you are poor, you have to rely on their charity.

  13. BTW, I don’t have kids because I am an uninsured disabled women, who can’t afford them. I have no money. nobody with money, who is also nice, would marry me. there are no prospects for daycare, or a unionized job, and I don’t want kids under those conditions, so you have no fucking clue what you talking about other than imitating Brooks and offering up stereotypes, and calling me a cultural elite.

Yeah I hate Conservative Religion. I had an abusive father and a mom who wouldn’t leave her idiot husband because of conservative religious beliefs. We definately would have been better off if she had ditched him. She needed a better paying job, not a husband.

  14. Iran and Saudi Arabia are not Islamic countries because they do not run their countries according to Islamic law. Some it is “Islamic”(we could debate what is Islamic) and much of it is not, rather it is culture clap-trap, like banning women from driving and the like.

If the West is going to let in the immigrants, they better make sure that they put into place a system in which they are given the opportunity to succede. This has not happened in France or many other European nations. Exceptions are countries like the UK, and hence they have very little immigration problems when compared to a place like France.

Integrating into American society is and was much easier than doing so in Europe. Why? Because this country is a nation built on immigration and we are not a country of people that were, prior to one group immigrating, an ethnic nation state like France, Germany, Italy and other European countries. Integrating into a country where there are dozens of ethnic groups already present is one thing, integrating into a country that is almost completely ethnically monolithic is another.

  15. I agree with you about Europe having a problem with letting in immigrants because they are natural ethnic countries. I also agree they need to provide more opportunities for Immigrants, but backstabbing feminists and working class women in favor of expoitive business people in France, doesn’t get us there.

I believe in seperation of Church and State. While the driving thing maybe cultural baggage, other things like polygamy and the fact that a womens testamony is worth less in Islamic Courts, not to mention stoning adulteresses is from literal interpretations of the Koran, that will not change ever under any circumstances. That is not to say people don’t have a right to be muslims in their personal lives, and they should have a right to where the hajib, or a chador or any other way the choose to dress, but Islamic Government will always impose on those that aren’t fundamentalist muslims.

  16. The idfference between Brooks and me is that he talks about the cultural-elite ( who are msotly to the left, not to the right) with admiration and I have disadin for them.

  17. I would argue that on a daily basis, outside of the rhetoric of many who march in the streets, that religous organizations here and abroad do more to help the poor than anyone else.

  18. Hi Abu Sinan,

Thanks for telling me why you don’t think Iran and Saudi Arabia are Islamic countries. And you make a very good point about America being a nation built on immigration and thus it is easier for immigrants to integrate into American society.

I think the only thing a government owes it’s immigrants is to provide an environment where they are not held back but it is the immigrant’s responsibility to work hard at succeeding.

    Anonymous,

No, you’re a European American of Italian background with no history or understanding of civil rights. So fuck you very much.

Wow, you sure can tell a lot about someone from reading a couple of posts. Regardless of what you think, I consider myself an American and could care less what you think of me or who I am.

French rising up to fight French? I realize that greasers arent the smartest people in the word, but thats a pretty dumb statement.

Since you didn’t answer my question, I’ll assume you didn’t understand it so I will ask it in simpler terms: Do you have a problem with law-abiding citizens rising up to fight law-breaking citizens?

If they aint white, they aint right.

Sounds like you’re the one with the racist attitude.

    Hi Umar ben-Ivan Lee,

I totally agree with your comment about anonymous posters. I appreciate your forum where we can discuss these issues. The Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. said, and I agree, that conflicts are never resolved without trustful give and take on both sides.
For the sake of our children we need to resolve our differences.

  19. I would argue that on a daily basis, outside of the rhetoric of many who march in the streets, that religous organizations here and abroad do more to help the poor than anyone else.

    I totally agree.

  20. People who like Bernard Lewis or any other neocon aren’t lefties, by any means, even if they adopt cultural liberalism.

If the religious right wants me to believe they are my friend they should stop supporting George Bush. I need a labor movement, and health insurance more than their faith based charity.

  21. >>Wow, you sure can tell a lot about someone from reading a couple of posts.< < Agreed. I only needed one post from you to figure out that you’re pretty full of shit. Treat others as you would want to be treated yourself. >>Regardless of what you think, I consider myself an American and could care less what you think of me or who I am.< < An ignorant white Italian American no doubt, one who doesnt know what he’s talking about. One who doesnt know his own history, much less that of other nations. >>Since you didn’t answer my question, I’ll assume you didn’t understand it so I will ask it in simpler terms: Do you have a problem with law-abiding citizens rising up to fight law-breaking citizens?< < I did answer your query birdbrain. So you’re just going rephrase the question are you? Nothing wrong with “law-breaking,” when the “law” causes to the deaths of 2 immigrants. If we followed such “laws” we would still have certain people using the backdoor or sitting at the back of the bus. I know you cant relate to that since you’ve never been treated like a second or third class citizen or been denied your rights. Hence your racist views on this, like you are irrelevent. >>Sounds like you’re the one with the racist attitude.< < Look who’s talking, Mr.”I hate Islam and Muslims and make no secret of it on my blog, but they better not call me a bigot.” Fuck off.

  22. Anonymous,

Call me a bigot all you want. As I said before, I don’t care what you think of me or who I am.

The only “law” that was broken when the two teenagers died was the law of common sense that says don’t hide in electrical sub-station.

  23. >>Call me a bigot all you want. As I said before, I don’t care what you think of me or who I am.< < Feelings mutual, you’re irrelevent, and thats that. Now go fetch me a pizza, vinny. >>The only “law” that was broken when the two teenagers died was the law of common sense that says don’t hide in electrical sub-station.< < Here we go with the usual brand of bullshit minimalism and obfuscation, they were chased into power plant by the cops, idiot. This is rich, talk of “common sense” from an extremist asshole calling himself “infidel army.” A wanker alone in his parents basement with an internet connection and gallon of KY jelly. What would a piece of shit like you know about civil rights?

  24. >>It is obvious you are nothing more than a troll and will not waste anymore of my time on you.< < This gets better with each post. Look who’s talking. Run along infidel troll. Your petty racism will not be tolerated, now fuck off.
